International Choreography Competition in the Netherlands

PRIZES:

Every category will have three winners – first, second and third place.

Intermediates:
1° – 250,- euro + 4000,- euro scholarship for 3 months choreographic research program at DiA + will perform with the DiA Junior Company during the June performance at the Toneelschuur, Haarlem.
2° – 4000,- euro scholarship for 3 months choreographic research program at DiA.
3° – A masterclass with one of the judges.

Professionals 18+:
1° – 500,- euro + 4000,- euro scholarship for 3 months choreographic research program at DiA + will perform with the DiA Junior Company during the June performance at the Toneelschuur, Haarlem.
2° – 4000,- euro scholarship for 3 months choreographic research program at DiA.
3° – A masterclass with one of the judges.

PRODUCTION AWARD
Selected by Martine van Santen, artistic director of Dance in Art, the winner of this award will be invited to create a new work for the DiA Junior Company in the 2018/19 season.

 


 

SCHEDULE
Saturday, June 9th: Stage rehearsal and Choreography Competition
Sunday, June 10th: Departure

The Choreography Competition will be held before a live audience, including a jury comprised of invited members of the dance world.

Winning pieces will be announced at the end of the Choreography Competition on Saturday, June 9th 2018. Winning pieces will also be presented on Saturday June 23rd 2018 during the DiA Summer Performance.

TECHNICAL ARRANGEMENTS
All participants will be allowed 15 minutes on stage for lighting arrangements. Please be advised that technical capabilities will be limited. Required props or sets are the responsibility of the contestant. At the DiA studio there is space and time for rehearsals.

NCC will provide sound and technical assistance, as well as a lighting designer.
