Born in Cologne and growing up in Lisbon, Rita is a half Portuguese half German dancer who currently works with the Gross Dance Company. She joined the DiA junior company for the season 2016/17 and will be teaching ballet to this year’s group.
In July 2016 she graduated from the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden, where she did her bachelor of art. Her education included workshops in Gaga techniques, Forsythe improvisation techniques and many more. Before graduating she did an internship in The Forsythe company and in Ballet Mannheim.
In this time Rita also danced pieces of choreographers like Ihsan Rustem, Ohad Naharin and Catarina Christl.
Her first ballet and contemporary education was in the Conservatory in Lisbon.

She currently performs in musicals like: Anastasia, Flashdance and Sister Act.
